BOTOX TREATMENT FOR

CLENCHING AND GRINDING

Injecting small doses of Botox (botulinum toxin) directly into the masseter muscle (the jaw), weakens the muscle enough to stop habitual grinding of the teeth and clenching of the jaw. This significantly relaxes the muscle and reduces the wear and tear on the teeth due to bruxism (the action of clenching)

Our dentists are experts in injection Botox into the masseter muscles to relieve symptoms of TMJ, headaches, migraines and tooth wear. We offer a variety of treatments including Botox treatment for clenching and grinding.

FAQ of using Botox

Is Botox treatment for clenching and grinding (bruxism) safe?

Botulinum toxin is a natural toxin, which weakens the muscles when injected in very small amounts. It is safe to use when used by an experienced practitioner. The injections generally take one week to start working and 2 weeks for a full effect, which lasts on average 12-16 weeks, and slowly wear off.

What are the side effects of Botox for Jaw clenching (bruxism)? Botox injections for clenching and grinding do not have many side effects and the only immediate side effect reported is “lopsided smile” in around 8% of patients which returned to normal after a few weeks.
