Cryotherapy in Reading
We now specialise in delivering cutting-edge Cryopen Therapy in Reading, removing warts, hyperpigmentation, skin tags, and other benign skin lesions in a matter of seconds with minimal discomfort or scarring.
Cryotherapy is an effective, fast and safe procedure designed to freeze and eliminate benign skin lesions using the advanced Cryopen. At Reading Cosmetic Clinic, we use liquified nitrous oxide to freeze the tissue, creating ice shards that rupture the cell membrane, ultimately destroying the lesion with minor pain. What sets the Cryopen apart is its speed and efficiency, with treatments taking just seconds to complete. Unlike other procedures, Cryotherapy does not require anaesthesia, ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients. Minimal scarring is another advantage, leaving your skin looking rejuvenated and flawless.
Who Can Benefit from Cryopen Treatment?
Our Cryotherapy in Reading can benefit people of all ages looking to address and eliminate a variety of skin imperfections. These can include:
Skin Tags & Milia: Although usually small and harmless, skin tags and milia can cause discomfort as well as affect self-confidence, they are easily removed using Cryotherapy.
Warts: Both common warts and plantar warts can be effectively eradicated using this technique. Unlike other wart removal techniques, Cryopen treatment targets the wart at the root and destroys it, making it very unlikely the wart will come back. Stubborn warts may require multiple sessions, each treatment will be carefully catered to your individual needs.
Age Spots & Hyperpigmentation: Uneven skin tone is very common and notoriously difficult to effectively treat. Our Cryotherapy in Reading is a fantastic solution to this, and can effectively restore an even skin tone.
Cherry Angiomas: Cherry Angiomas often take on a bright red or purple colour due to them consisting of red blood vessels, Cryotherapy can precisely target and remove this pigment.
Seborrheic Keratoses: Seborrheic Keratoses are common and benign skin growths that often affect self-confidence due to their dark colour and waxy or scaly appearance. Cryotherapy destroys the cells that make up the growth, revealing a perfect complexion.
First Freeze Cycle
The clinician will hold the applicator as close as possible to the lesion, and move it quickly towards and away from it. Depending on the lesion size and depth, the treatment could be 1 to 30 seconds.
After the first freezing cycle, the tissue will be allowed to thaw for about 30 seconds.
Second Freeze Cycle
The second freeze cycle will start. The tissue will freeze faster than during the first freezing cycle.
Can anyone have the treatment?
Yes. However, skin types and location should be considered carefully prior treatment.
Can children have CryoPen treatments?
Yes. However, parental consent is required.
Is the treatment painful?
At a penetration rate of 1 mm per 5 seconds, the ice will reach the caudal extent of the lesion after a given amount of time related to the depth of the lesion. From that moment, the patient will experience a pain sensation. This may be the moment to stop treatment. There might be a little residual stinging for a few minutes after treatment.
What if the blister pops?
If the blister pops, the use of an antibiotic cleaning solution and ointment is recommended.
Covering the area with a bandage also promotes healing.
What follow-up is necessary?
Follow-up should be schedules in 2-week intervals to observe results, and for further sessions if required.
