EXCESSIVE SWEATING

What is Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

Excessive sweating is common and can affect the whole body or just certain areas. Sometimes it gets better with age but there are things you can do and treatments that can help.

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. It refers to any abnormal sweating, such as sweating when it’s not hot. People who sweat excessively often soak through their clothing or drip sweat. Regular antiperspirants don’t work well for those with this condition.

FAQ of using Botox

How is Botox used for excessive sweating?

Botox injections use botulinum toxin to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating, stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat. Retreatment is typically needed in four to six months, as the nerves regenerate.

How long does Botox for hyperhidrosis last?

It will take between two and seven days for you to stop sweating in the treated area. It can take two weeks for total dryness. The effects of Botox are temporary, which means you'll need more injections in the future. For underarm sweating, dryness can last anywhere from four to fourteen months.

Is Botox for hyperhidrosis painful?

Does it hurt to have Botox injected into your armpits? The short answer is, not really. Botox injections in general are one using a tiny micro-needle, which helps minimize any pain associated with the treatment.
